One of the more frequent questions I’m asked is the about the need for a car on a Disney Vacation. I’m taking my daughter to WDW in a couple weeks, and was recently looking at rental car prices. I was shocked at what I found. Close to $300 for a car the size of my loveseat! That’s a lot of cash that could certainly be used for other things on our trip, and frankly an unnecessary expense.

One of the many benefits of staying in a Disney resort is the Magical Express bus service. This FREE service will take you from Orlando International Airport to any of the Disney Resorts at Walt Disney World. It will also transport you back to the airport at the end of your trip. Let’s take this a step further. When you book Magical Express, you will be sent a set of luggage tags to put on your bags. After you check in at your local airport, you won’t have to worry about baggage again. Your bags will be picked up at baggage claim in Orlando, and brought to your resort, and then your room! You skip baggage claim when you arrive, and go right to the Magical Express counter, board your bus, and go right to your resort. Of course, you should take essential items like medications and a change of clothes in your carry-on, as it can take up to three hours to get your bags delivered.

Once on Disney property, there are buses, boats, and monorails to get you around the property, to and from the parks, to the water parks, and Disney Springs. No need for a car if you are planning to stay in Disney for your entire trip. There are plenty of taxis, and UBER is available as well if you want to shorten the trip between resorts, (there is no resort to resort bus service) or if you want to take a day trip to Universal or SeaWorld.

Today’s trip is skip the car, take the bus!
