I took a brief trip last week to WDW with my wife and daughter. We only had one park day, and my daughter and I hit Magic Kingdom with the usual full on enthusiasm.(although she called this trip the “highlight reel” )

We hit all our favorites, Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, The Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean (yes the new red haired pirate is AWESOME!).

We took in Mickey’s Philharmagic 3 times because we could, including a back to back at the end of the night to close out.

We wanted to check out Happily Ever After, the nighttime spectacular (fireworks) in Magic Kingdom. We have seen it from half way down Main Street, but wanted to see what it would be like closer to the castle so we found ourselves a great spot about ten feet in front of the Partners Statue, 45 minutes before showtime.

While we had a great view, what we hadn’t planned on was being hungry immediately after settling on that spot. Looking behind me over to Caseys’ Corner (great hot dogs!) I saw the line was out the door and getting bigger every second. I hadn’t tried mobile ordering on the My Disney Experience app before, so thought this might be a good time to give it a try.

I have to say I will never order at a quick service restaurant again in Disney without using this feature.

I pulled up Caseys in the app, selected mobile ordering, placed my order, and paid for it with the credit card attached to my app.

I then started to walk to the restaurant. Easier said than done, climbing over everyone who had sat in front of the castle for fireworks. I tapped “I’m here” on the app and went into Casey’s sliding all the way to the right end of the counter to the mobile pickup window. As I said the line to order was out the door, but in less than five minutes after I tapped ” I’m Here”, my number was called and I had my order and I was on my way back up Main Street to eat with my daughter in front of the castle.

Give this valuable tool a try next time you see a huge line in front of one of the counter service stops in the parks. I think you will be pleasantly surprised!
