March is approaching! The sun is higher in the sky, you can feel the Spring just itching to break free! Have you thought about what you’re doing this summer? If you haven’t thought about your summer vacation plans, its time you did! Long afternoons by the pool, a cold drink in your hands, your children playing happily in the pool. Mornings spent in the worlds greatest theme parks, making memories with your loved ones.Warm summer evenings, dining in world class restaurants, watching premium entertainment, transported to magical lands, exotic locales, showered in adventure, fantasy, and magic. You know where I’m talking about. So let’s start thinking about how to make this happen.
You know I’m a fan of planning ahead, beating the rush, and getting your planning done in time to eat where you want, stay where you want, see the attractions you want, and taking in all there is to do at Walt Disney World. The best way to do that is to start planning early. I’ve had a lot of quotes going out this week for dates this Summer. People are starting to plan, and want to get in before the best hotels and dining reservations are gone.I’m hearing from a lot of people that the thought of planning this is so overwhelming. There is so much to think about, and they are just paralyzed by the thought of getting it all together. Well, one vacationer’s fear is another Disney nerd’s greatest joy, so that’s why you call me!
NOW is the time to get started. Dining reservation windows are already open for this Summer, and as we have discussed before, winging it just isn’t going to fly.Disney requires planning, and I’m here to do that for you. So let’s take a look at some of the reasons Summer is a great time to go to Disney.
First of all, the parks are open the longest hours of any time (except Christmas week) of the year. Most of the attractions are open, as refurbishments and closures are done over the winter months.Longer hours means afternoon breaks at your resort are a great way to rest and refresh, so that you can go back to the parks at night.Because the summer vacation schedule is expanded during the summer, you will actually find the parks less crowded than you would during school vacation weeks, as more people are spread across the season instead of crammed into a seven day period. It is also easier to coordinate multi family or multi-generational trips in the summer, as the schedule at this point is usually wide open.There is something special about the Grandparents taking their grand-kids to Disney, or your children travelling with their pals as you and your friends go together!.
This Summer will also see the opening of Pandora in Animal Kingdom. This multi year project is set to open May 17th, and promises to be an amazing journey through the World of James Cameron’s AVATAR.You can read all about it here.
